Nottingham Games 2009

1. I went to Nottingham Games on the 31st of October with Leicester team.
2. My husband was working, he can't find other doctor to switch his duty on that day and because of that he can't play football match for Notts Games this year.

Our VISA (residence permit) have been cleared :)
Fact : new type of VISA is no longer attached to passport, it is a smart card.  VISA card is equal to MY card in Malaysia (for foreigner here) as I have to bring it anywhere I go for my proof of identity.

11.  We played Cluedo board game for the first time.  I dipaksa untuk main oleh Zaidi.

12.  We went back to our place.  I had period pain yang dasyat - sakit parut, betis cramp, tak sedap 1 badan.

13.  Bace my mum email, asking us to online.

14.  I called my mum phone several times tak dapat.  Then I called house phone pun nobody pick-up.

15.  I asked my hubby to online, I baring je terus tertidur di dalam kesakitan.

Good day really.

1.  We went to Nottingham this morning and went back to Leicester petang before Maghrib.

 

2.  We had our dinner at TJ's Burger.

3.  We have just got back from Odeon cinema where we watched the movie "500 Days of Summer". Menarik dan kelakar yang best. 4 stars! :)

Hubby is not working today and tomorrow because he has worked last weekend.

We had our breakfast and lunch at Croques.

 

My hubby has ordered Croques wraps - Vegetarian all day breakfast wrap: Vegetarian sausage, egg mayo, mushrooms, potatoes and tomatoes.

And I had Croques melts - Salmon, prawn and dill mustard mayonnaise.

Mine was SEDAP GILER!! =))

After that we went to Highcross shopping mall and hoorayyyyy!! I've got what I wish for :)

Eventhough it was not the exact color that I wanted, It was still in PINK family and I like it very much!! Thank you love :)

And 1 more thing, look what I've found at Body Care shop in Highcross.  (should be with double "F" :p)

Btw, de sesipa memiliki this camera? Best tak? I dah pernah memiliki NIKON, Canon my hubby punye, so I think nak try Sony pula.

2.  Sony hard case - Sony camera tak datang dengan casekan.. (dah study daaa.. hehe) Maka perlu la ade case yang cute for me right, kate brand new cam :)

3.  Converse Chuck Taylor All Star - I need new shoe!! My shoes semuanye da haus tapaknye because banyak berjalan kaki.  But this shocking pink Chuck Taylor All Star kena tempah dan macam lagi mahal dari Onitsuka Tiger je.. Melampau kan. Prbbbbbbbbt.

4. HTC Hero Android phone - Hubby macam sangat-sangat nak belikan je.  Ewah :p

Hari ini I raya puasa sunat 6 Syawal, dan bersempena dengan itu Malaysian Leicester dengan gembiranya meraikan sambutan untuk I =))

Wah! Sukahati.

Sebenarnya hari ini ada sambutan Hari Raya Malaysian Society Leicester.

Raya 2009 di Berisu.

Last night before I went to sleep, I woke-up my sister by miscalled and sent texts to her mobile phone asking her to online.  It was 6.15 a.m. (Malaysia time).

She was so angry at first because there was nothing emergency.

It just because she promised to send me Hari Raya photos.

So here we go :)

Unhelpful HSBC Staffs.

Last night our flat fire alarm (annoying) system beeping 2 times.

All tenant used stairs to go downstairs dan berkumpul di halaman flat. (We are staying in Level 4, but if dari bawah kire actually we are in Level 5).

Fireman datang dengan pantas sekali.

I went downstairs untuk mengetahui apa yang berlaku dan bukan untuk menyelamatkan diri, while my hubby prefered to continue sleeping.  So, I went down alone.

There was no smoke.  Alarm system tu yang ade masalah agaknya.

Therefore, I ignored the second time fire alarmed + hubby memang tak kasi pon I turun dah.

Bunyi bising memekak pon at last I fell asleep.

We woke up early sebab nak pergi menguruskan macam-macam.

First thing we did was taking passport photos.

After that we went to HSBC Bank to get my hubby 3 months latest bank statement.

Boleh tak staff dan manager kat HSBC tu tak nak membantu langsung.  We waited there from 9.00 a.m. until almost 12 noon tau.

Macam-macam usaha my hubby lakukan until he contacted customer services for help.

Because manager tu tak nak tolong, my hubby dapatkan la bantuan from central staff.

Org central staff tu da tolong buatkan dan telah di emailkan kepada manager perempuan blonde berlagak tersebut, tapi die tetap tak nak tolong print kan.

JAHAT sangat.

Tahula my hubby bukan HSBC premier holder, but still customer.

Susah sangat ker nak tolong printkan 3 bulan bank statement?

Kami tunggu kat situ berapa jam kesian pon tak.  At least orang kat Malaysia masih ade budi bicara, kat negara orang macam ni la.  Mentang-mentang la we are international customer dan Asian.

Tapi orang-orang dari negara China yang HSBC premier tu kau layan baek.  Bangsat sangat.

Ke HSBC punyer staff mmg sume cam tu?  Mmg staff HSBC di trained untuk pilih BULU dan being UNHELPFUL towards customers like us ke? Siapa kerja HSBC bank sila komen.

Ended-up kami tak dapat bank statement.  Mase, tenaga dan credit phone terbazir cam tu sahaja.  Hubby berlari-lari kejar bus nak pergi kerja dan sampai hospital dekat pukul 12 lebih.

Post kan sahaja VISA application tu semula.

Hubby nak tutup account HSBC buka account baru kat bank lain as thing like this was not first time happen.

"Potong ketiak"

The title above was what my hubby tersasul said while informing me that he wants to potong kuku =))

Nak pergi bermain bola, baru tersedar kuku sudah panjang.

Every Thursday he went to play football with other doctors.

Good for him to maintain healthy, fit dan tidak boroi :p  But one thing I dislikes is everytime he got back from playing football, there will be ada sahaja injuries occurred.  Hurm.  Main yang dasyat bagaimanakah agaknya.



Yesterday, we nyaris-nyaris menonton '500 days of summer' movie until Orange Wednesdays online system buat tahi. Grrrrr!Geram.

Every Wednesday Orange (mobile network operator) customer can get 2 for 1 cinema tickets.  So my hubby texted Orange to enjoyed the deal.

We supposed to receive text ticket number in pronto.  But I don't know why on earth - yesterday Orange system was so awful.

We waited the text ticket number until our patience was gone, we cancelled our plan to watch the movie and ended-up makan Cornetto ice-cream  (promotion) yang tidak sedap.

The text ticket number was then received at 2.23 a.m. in the morning while we were asleep.  So frustrating kan.

Anyhow, my hubby persuaded me to wait until next Wednesday show.

I was like, baiklah.



Just now my hubby got back from work dengan muka sangat ketat, tensed and worried.

Well, he didn't mad at me at all walaupun I'm si chomot yang tak comel langsung menyambut his ketibaan (wah macam Dato', Tan Sri pula guna perkataan "ketibaan") :p

It was regarding our VISA application.  Our submitted pictures was not accepted.

Maka, tomorrow my hubby have to go to work a bit late, and we have to take a new passport pictures.

Berserta, we need to apply for a new - current bank statement from HSBC. 

*Sigh*

Kepingin yang bukan-bukan.

I just got back from the City Centre.

My hubby asked me to deposit his cheque, so first destination was HSBC bank at Leicester Clock Tower.

After that, I went to Tesco Express and I bought some fish sushi! Here in the UK, susah taw nak cari sushi Halal, misti ade MIRIN dalam ingredients. But penemuan yang begitu menarik, hanya Tesco Express kat ceruk Haymarket ini only jual sushi yang boleh dimakan serta yumme-yumme sekali :) Today buka puasa makan sushi.. Nice!

Later on I remembered that my crips da habes. So I went to Somerfield, tak de promotion. I went to Wilkinson also, tak de promotion juga. My last destination was Sainsbury's, ade promotion or not I will buy tak kesah dah sebab da emo penat jalan puasa dan haus :p Lucky me kat Sainsbury's macam-macam promotion pula ade utk pelbagai crips. I rakus sgt, trus rembat jela:

We like makan crips.. Makan with nasi sedap wohhhh selain d makan begitu sahaja.. Please try :)

After that, I decided utk terus pulang. Because if nak singgah market pun, lauk dan sayur ade lagi. Kenalah habes kan dulu and if beli awal-awal nanti rosak dan tak segar pula.

Tp time jalan2 nampak oriental shop, trus ter- singgah walaupun konon xde intention lgsung nak beli pepe :p

I'm so bored.

Just know, I played Zuma game online. After several times I've lost lives, I benggang. So, I stopped playing.

Nothing much to share because nothing was exciting.

I've started fasting sunat 6 Syawal since yesterday. Gigih kan 2nd day Hari Raya dah start puasa sunat 6? haha =)) So today is my 2nd day of fasting. I hope that I managed to fast 6 days straight before my menstruation.

Our Hari Raya theme this year was blue & black. Thank God my MIL gave us baju raya, if not we don't have any. My MIL gave me baju kurung moden biru yang dibeli siap serta telah di pilih oleh my SIL-Zu while my hubby was so kesian tak dapat baju melayu. Ha ha. He only got one black baju labuh which I called "baju punjabi" di pakai bersama jeans biru di pagi Hari Raya. Maka nak di sedondon kan, I wore my baju kurung with black tudung. I have one more baju kurung in green, also my MIL beri. I will pakai when we go beraya elsewhere la kot.

I've lost several kgs during Ramadhan which is YAY! for me and HELL-no for hubby. He has started complain about my weight and the reduces of my fat.

He keep asking me to eat a lots. Grrrr..

My hubby is working (on-call) this weekend, I guess I have to bersiar-siar/berjalan-jalan alone to entertain myself if bosan-bosan :p

I'm waiting for my adik beradik to upload Hari Raya photos and cerita. Please-please-please wahai sisters! I want to see parents, neneks, cousins, uncles & aunties, sanak saudara di pagi Hari Raya :))

Today I cooked chicken curry and I've realized that my rempah kari daging is going to finished soon. Sepaket yang tinggal ini harusla digunakan sebaik-baik mungkin. Erkk. Should I asked someone to post kan ke eyh? Ha ha. I carik dulu la if I could get it here. Tapi the problem is, I only wanted Rempah Kari Daging/Ayam brand ADABI or ALLAGAPAS only. Sungguh spesifik kan :)) ha hah.

Well, hari ini weather tak menarek. Cloudy all day. Angin sangat kuat bertiup sejuk. I oppened my window wide and turn-on heating system. Apekah tujuan nye?? - I pon tak mengerti. Ha ha. Alang-alang rent includes electricity ker? :p

Ok la, I nak melipat kain baju yang saje I tinggal-tinggal kan pagi tadi la.

Hari Raya is today and today is Sunday yaw!
My hubby was so happy because we can celebrated Hari Raya (especially :p) with me and with other friends (because he is not working this weekend.)
We went to University of Leicester Muslim Hall to perform Eid ul fitr prayer.
After that we went to 33 Thirlmere Street house for gathering and makan-makan port luck.
I cooked super scrummy-yummy nasi lemak with ayam berempah and they all puji my delectable sambal - all finished licin =))

A day in city of Cambridge.

The city of Cambridge is a university town. It is best known as the home of the University of Cambridge, one of the world's premier universities.

My hubby and I went to Cambridge last Saturday. We went to Cambridge by car. It was the first time my hubby rented a car since I was here. My hubby rented a manual 5-door hatchback car called Vauxhall Corsa in the UK.

It takes about 1 hour & 40 mins driving from Leicester to Cambridge.

From Leicester (A) to Cambridge (B). Cambridge is located at down south of Leicester.

So, we decided to get ready for the journey straight away after we woke up for sahur. We went out from our place at +-6.00 a.m. in the morning because I have to be there at 9.00 a.m. for registration.

We arrived at Milton - Cambridge Park & Ride before 8.00 a.m. and my hubby parked our car there. We went to Cambridge city by bus.

The bus stopped at the heart of the Cambridge city and we walked to the university.

I took my IELTS test at the Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. Anglia Ruskin University is one of the largest universities in the East of England, and one of the largest providers of face-to-face part-time training in the country.

I had to take my IELTS test here because it was the only nearest university that was still have the available place for Sept 12th. All universities near Leicester was fully booked for IELTS test until October because the booking was supposed to be made 1 month in advance while I booked the exam 2 weeks before the exam date (last minutes. I know). Moreover, here in the UK, IELTS test is not available every week.

The IELTS test is made up of four components. The components are Listening (30 mins), Reading (60 mins), Writing (60 mins), and Speaking (15 mins).
Well,,,,, the test went O.K la. I think I can do better if I was good in time management during the test. Anyhow, I Tawakkal-AllawAllah for the result. It has already happen.

I finished my test at 3.00 p.m. and after that we went for a tour to the Cambridge city.

We walked through small path in the middle of huge field.

I took those pictures above while we were walking through to our first destination - King's College.

The University of Cambridge has 31 colleges which the King's College is the most popular one.


We did not entered the King's College as we were not interested to pay to go inside :p

While we were amazed with the King's College building design, my hubby has been approached by 1 guy. The guy then persuaded my hubby to try for punting to view the attractions places by boat. My hubby then agreed when he finally gave us special price which is £15 for 2 person :p (Actually, my hubby's friend already recommended us to go for punting as it is a popular recreation in Cambridge on the River Cam).

Punting refers to boating in a punt. A punt is a flat-bottomed boat with a square-cut bow, designed for use in small rivers or other shallow water.

Mathematical Bridge connects Queen's College with the President's Lodge.

There are more than 5 different unique bridges along the river and it has their own name and legend.

The 20-25 mins punting was very exciting even though we were bit wet then.

The scenery along the river was awesome. It was very beautiful.


Building behind my hubby is a Library named Wren. The Wren Library is the library of Trinity College and it contains many notable rare books and manuscripts. The well-known is the A. A. Milne's manuscript of Winnie-the-Pooh.

Last college we visited was St. John's College. The full formal name of the college is "The Master, Fellows and Scholars of the College of St John the Evangelist in the University of Cambridge".

After that, we went to Cambridge shopping mall named Grand Arcade and The Grafton. No picture was taken, kerana saya sudah tidak larat dan sudah tidak sabar nak berbuka.

At +- 6.00 p.m we went back to Leicester. We broke our fast in the car and when we arrived in Leicester, my hubby brought me to dinner at buffet restaurant called Lahore. We were so tired, flat and sleepy. We didn't eat much and very not worth for buffet price.

More than words can say.

Tak aci sangat, I miss korang yang ramai.. You guys miss kat I sorang je.. (RINDU ker??).

Living in the United Kingdom.

Most people can have a chance to travel around the word to visit different places. But not everyone is lucky to have an opportunity and a chance to live abroad. Living abroad can have an impact on us especially for those who want to improve their knowledge and experience in life. I have paid for my VISA to live in this country, which is UK. Therefore, I won’t waste my money without gaining and earning something valuable from it. I have to utilize this opportunity as best as I can. I would say that I like living here for many reasons although there are things I like and dislike.

I’ve found out that to adjust to different conditions is not really difficult if there is a huge enthusiasm towards it. I have easily fit myself in with the new culture, environment and surroundings, and especially the weather. In UK, I’ve experienced the English four seasons weather which is rainy seasons during spring and winter, and sunny seasons during summer and autumn. I really enjoy winter season the most even though during winter we had fewest hours of daylight with the shortest days while nighttime was so long and the lowest average temperatures. I had the chance to play with snow for the first time in my life. I was truly excited and happy when the snow started to fall from the sky like rain. It really was a lovely memory.

As my husband was a student at the University of Sheffield before, I got the chance to join a free English class for partners and the Women’s International Club. It has been helped me a lot in improving my English language and social life. I have gained confidence in speaking and writing in English as well as widening my international network of friends. All of my local friends are so friendly and they are very helpful for whatever enquiries. Additionally, the best way to practice and improve my skills in English language is when I involved in their community. I really like to hear the British accent in spite of the fact that it is hard to understand and I have to listen very carefully to understand it.

The UK is a developed country and because of that, it has a very sophisticated and secure online services system. I believe most transaction can be made through the internet 24 hours a day. Things like online banking, online shopping, online billing, and many more trusted services can be done online. This can really ease nowadays people busy lives. Furthermore, their public transportation such as buses, trains and trams offers good services and we can rely on them being on time as scheduled. There is one more thing that is more exciting. Here in the UK, it is easy to get a good bargain for a designer stuff such as clothes, handbags, accessories, collectables and others because there are a lot of designer factory outlets that can be visited and you can find something with affordable prices.

The UK is a big country and it has 66 official cities as well as many beautiful, historical and attracted places that can be visited. In addition because of the UK location, to travel around the Europe is just a short distant. However, I haven’t had the time and sufficient money yet to visit all of the places, but they will always be in my wish lists and dreams.

Therefore, living in the UK has opened my eyes towards a meaningful and exciting life. On top of that, it has improved my knowledge and maturity. There is much more to learn about life when there is a challenge. It is true that the journeys that we take can wide our horizons. I believe that learning about life is a wonderful thing. There are many good things that can be learned and many bad things that we learn to avoid.
